On April 2, students from Southwest University spontaneously went to the Yuan Longping statue on the eve of Qingming Festival to lay flowers in memory of alumni Yuan Longping.
At the scene, students from the Academy of Fine Arts of Southwest University expressed their memory and remembrance through portraits.
The school volunteers also launched the "CD Action" in the school cafeteria to encourage students to cherish food by distributing homemade souvenirs.
It is reported that in 1949, Yuan Longping was admitted to the Department of Agriculture of Xianghui College in Xiaba, Beibei, Chongqing.
From November 1950 to July 1953, the departments were adjusted and merged into the Department of Agriculture of the newly-built Southwest Agricultural College (now Southwest University) in Chongqing. Yuan Longping continued his studies for 3 years until graduation.
