On March 31, a 22-year-old pregnant woman with quadruplets in Jinan, Shandong underwent emergency cervical cerclage after being hospitalized because of cervical insufficiency at 22 weeks of pregnancy.

A few days ago, two brothers were born four days apart, and two other children are still in the mother's womb.

According to Ma Yuyan, director of the Second Obstetric Ward of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, the first child weighed only more than 700 grams, which is an extremely premature infant, and the second child was only 870 grams.

At present, emergency cervical cerclage surgery and miscarriage treatment have been performed again for the mother, hoping that the other two children can delay the delivery and reduce complications.

At present, the two newborns are being treated in the intensive care unit, and the condition of the mother and the two fetuses in the abdomen is relatively stable.
