  • Reducing salt in foods. It is preferable to put lemon as an alternative in the taste, as it helps the absorption of iron and proteins.

  • Avoid eating foods and foods that contain a large proportion of spices and seasonings, especially in the Suhoor meal, because you need to drink large amounts of water after eating it.

  • Drink small amounts of water intermittently at night.

  • Eating a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits, as these foods contain good amounts of water and fiber that stay for a long time in the intestines, which reduces the feeling of hunger and thirst.

  • Avoid eating salty foods and foods such as salty fish, pickles and salty cheeses, because these foods increase the body's need for water.

  • Some people believe that drinking large amounts of water at Suhoor protects them from feeling thirsty during fasting, and this is a misconception because most of this water is in excess of the body’s need, so the kidneys expel it an hour after eating it.

The body does not benefit from more than one glass of water every hour.

  • Excessive fluids in Ramadan, such as various juices and soda water, severely affect the stomach, reduce the efficiency of digestion and the occurrence of some digestive disorders. It also helps to store water in the body because it interacts with food and turns into excess salt.

  • It is also advised not to drink juices that contain artificially colored materials and that contain large amounts of sugar. It has been proven by nutritionists that they cause health damage and allergies in children. Also, the large number of sugars in drinks cause thirst again, and it is recommended to replace them with fresh juices and fruits.

  • Some individuals drink ice water, especially at the beginning of breakfast, and this does not quench thirst, but rather leads to constriction of the capillaries and thus poor digestion. The degree of water must be moderate or moderately cold, and the individual should drink it carefully and not at once and push food with water during eating the wrong way because it does not give Chances of digestion and more digestion process is to chew food to get good digestion.
