As the temperature warmed, the snow on both sides of the Burgen River began to melt, and the Mongolian beaver, which had been dormant in the burrow for a winter, began to come out of the den to forage.

Recently, a video system installed by the Xinjiang Burgen Beaver National Nature Reserve Management Bureau captured images of six Mengxin beavers foraging on the shore. It is very rare for so many Mongolian beavers to gather together.

In the picture, first five Mengxin beavers gathered by the river to eat the willow branches, and after a while another one came over from not far away to join the eating army. Look for new willow branches on the shore, bite them and drag them into the water to continue eating.

The six beavers did not disturb each other and seemed very calm.

The Burgen Beaver Nature Reserve is located in the Burgen River Basin Reserve, Chagan Gol Township, Qinghe County, Xinjiang, with a beaver protection station.

The station was established in 1980, the main object of protection is the world's rare animal beaver and the natural environment on which it lives.

In recent years, the Xinjiang Burgen Beaver National Nature Reserve Management Bureau has continuously increased the ecological construction of the reserve. By carrying out measures such as the ecological relocation of herdsmen and the enclosure of the core area, the habitat environment of the Mongolian Beaver has been improved, and the Inner Mongolia New River in the reserve has been improved. The number of raccoons has grown steadily, from 132 in 32 families in 2014 to 162 in 38 families today.
