No more (many) weeks of waiting to see your radiologist, gynecologist and ophthalmologist!

As of this Friday, Health Insurance is extending its tele-expertise system to all patients,

Capital announces

.

Until then, only a few patients (recipients of ALD, suffering from rare diseases, residing in nursing homes or in under-dense areas) were concerned by this online tool.

The aim of this free device is to reduce waiting times for specialists and improve access to care in medical deserts.

During a tele-expertise appointment, a health professional will make a diagnosis.

If he spots an anomaly, he can directly seek the advice of a specialist using secure messaging.

The specialist in question decides whether the patient needs urgent treatment.

No additional cost for the patient

There is no additional cost for the patient.

The price remains that of a consultation with the general practitioner.

Health insurance will directly remunerate the doctor as well as the specialist requested, within the limit of four tele-expertise acts per year and per patient.

In addition, the medical opinion given by the specialist can be consulted by the doctor but also by the patient in his medical file available on Ameli's "My health space" platform.

General practitioners will not be the only ones able to offer tele-expertise.

Other health professionals such as pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical auxiliaries but also speech therapists will also be able to use this device from next Wednesday.

It will be necessary to wait until September 2022 for midwives.
