It has been translated into 17 languages ​​so far, and the film is remade There are countless versions, and the musical with this theme has also been performed in 35 countries and 21 languages, with more than 50 million audiences so far.

  The Chinese version of "Les Miserables" is jointly invested and produced by Yanghua Theatre and the French Montpellier Actors' Spring Theatre Festival. The Chinese Theatre Association is also the main support unit of the play.

It is supervised by Jean Varela, artistic director of the Montpellier Actors' Spring Festival in France. The director is Eric La Cascade from France, who has directed the Yanghua drama series "Thunderstorm" and "Thunderstorm". back".

  The novel "Les Miserables" was born in 1862 and was adapted into a two-act play by Hugo's son, Charles Hugo, in Brussels in 1863, and then in Bordeaux in 1870.

The Chinese version of "Les Miserables" produced by Yanghua this time is based on the version published in 1900 after the Paris performance in 1899. It can be said that it is a version that is very close to the spirit of the original work.

  Liu Ye said that he asked Ying for the role himself. "After I turned 40, I always wanted to do something special. It was more popular to be a director, or to travel around the world with my wife. Go to places that no one has been to." Last year, when he chatted with Wang Keran, the artistic director of Yanghua, after watching the series of "Thunderstorm" and "After the Thunderstorm", he heard that Yanghua will be doing a drama "Les Miserables" next. , he immediately knew what he wanted to do, "I said right away, I want to play Jean Valjean, this is what I want to do, and it will satisfy me."

  In the 21 years since graduating from the Department of Chinese Opera Performance, Liu Ye has spent most of his time acting in film and television dramas. The last time he acted in a drama was "Amber" with director Meng Jinghui more than ten years ago. He regards himself as a drama actor. "The meaning of drama to me is that it allows me to find my passion as a student more than 20 years ago." Chinese readers are no strangers to "Les Miserables", and Liu Ye has watched it since he was eight or nine years old.
