Egypt decides to make facilities in obtaining entry visas for 180 nationalities

The Egyptian authorities announced their approval of a package of new facilities in the procedures for obtaining tourist visas, with the aim of revitalizing the tourism sector.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities revealed that the number of nationalities that can obtain a tourist visa in the Egyptian ports of entry is more than 180, provided that there is a valid visa for any of the countries of Britain, America, Japan and New Zealand, or a visa to enter the European Union Schengen.

The ministry indicated that the new procedures will take effect from the beginning of this April.

She pointed out that the procedures allow obtaining an electronic tourist visa for about 78 nationalities around the world, not to mention the existence of special facilities for some nationalities in the event of direct access to Sharm El Sheikh or Taba.

The ministry stated that in the event of direct access to Sharm El Sheikh or Taba, a return ticket, a reservation for hotel accommodation, and a credit card that covers the expenses during the stay period is required.

Sharm el-Sheikh and Taba play a major role in the Egyptian economy, especially as their vibrant hotels, restaurants, cafes and clubs attract tourists all year round, according to a previous report by Agence France-Presse.

Tourism provides about 15% of foreign currency earnings and about 12% of GDP.
