This week, actor Bruce Willis' family announced that he has developed aphasia and will end his career.

But according to a review by the Los Angeles Times, Willis' health has worried those who have worked with him for several years.

Aphasia affects the victim's ability to communicate and often occurs in connection with a stroke.

Many roles in a short time

About 20 people the newspaper spoke to say that Bruce Willis did not seem healthy.

At the same time, he has been more productive than ever IMDB lists that Willis has had roles in 22 low-budget films since 2020.

Directors and other filmmakers the LA Times spoke to testify that Willis does not seem to have been fully aware of where he was during the filming, where he could often get a salary of two million dollars, equivalent to 18.8 million kronor, for two days' work.

According to informants, Bruce Willis had difficulty remembering lines and had them read aloud in an earpiece.

"Felt wrong"

Director Jesse V Johnson, who directed the low-budget film White Elephant, says he asked Willis' team, led by his former assistant, straight out if the actor was really feeling well.

Johnson is said to have been assured that Willis was feeling well and should also have received an offer to record more films with Bruce Willis, but declined.

- We are Bruce Willis fans and the whole set-up felt wrong and in the end a sad end to a fantastic career that neither of us felt comfortable with.

Assistant got millions

Bruce Willis' former assistant signed in 2018 on a contract for three films with the film star for which the assistant is the producer.

The LA Times has read the contract which shows that the assistant received $ 200,000, 1.8 million kronor, per film.

A year later, he signed a similar agreement for two more films.

The assistant did not comment on the LA Times article.

For a couple of years, fans have reacted to the fact that Bruce Willis had so many small roles in low-budget films.

The Razzie Gala, which "praises" the worst film efforts of the year, created a special category in 2021 for "worst Bruce Willis acting" because he appeared in so many films.

Since Bruce Willis' diagnosis became known, the Razzies have withdrawn the category.
