A large weeping cherry tree, about 200 years old, is in full bloom at a temple in Mito City, signaling the spring season.

At Mito Daishi Rokujizo-ji Temple in Mito City, about 50 cherry trees are planted, centering on weeping cherry trees.

Of these, the weeping cherry tree, which is about 10 meters high and is planted in the center of the precincts, is said to be a descendant of the cherry blossoms that the second feudal lord of the Mito domain, Tokugawa Mitsukuni, enjoyed cherry blossom viewing. Is in full bloom.

Visitors enjoyed the spring time by strolling around the precincts of the spring season and taking pictures of the pale pink flowers in full bloom.

A couple who came from Ibaraki-cho to pray for a safe delivery said, "I felt very beautiful and spring. I want my children to be born as healthy as cherry blossoms."

Weeping cherry blossoms at Rokujizoji will be enjoyed until the middle of next week.
