[Explanation] Due to the fifth wave of the epidemic in Hong Kong, at the request of the Hong Kong SAR government, the central government decided to assist in the construction of emergency hospitals and makeshift hospitals in the Lok Ma Chau Loop in Hong Kong.

On March 29, the circuit of the first phase of the Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital Project was fully connected, which marked that the first phase of the project officially entered the stage of joint debugging and joint testing, and is expected to be officially completed on April 5.

[Explanation] In the past few days, more than 20,000 builders from all over the world have rushed to the Hetao construction site, racing against time to build a continent of life on a deserted beach.

The construction period of the Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital is tight and difficult, and the challenges it faces are unprecedented.

The main manifestations are: First, a negative pressure ward with 500 beds needs to be built within 30 days. There is no precedent for building such a large-scale special hospital in a short period of time.

The second is that the hospital is built on a fish pond and needs to deal with soft foundations, which is equivalent to "building a house on tofu", and the construction is difficult.

Third, all personnel, materials, and equipment can only be accessed through a temporary, and only steel trestle.

Fourth, all the construction personnel must live on site, but there is no time to set up temporary construction in advance, and all the construction personnel can only live in tents.

In fact, when we used to do engineering, everyone had a basic saying, called "three links and one leveling".

But at this site, basically, there are no "three connections and one leveling" when entering, and maybe only the site is level, and there is basically no water, electricity, and sewage, so this is a huge challenge to our living security.

(In) it can be said that the construction of the first phase of the 500-bed hospital will be completed within a limited time, which also includes 32 ICU wards, 3 operating rooms, including laboratory, radiology, and other medical technology. It should be said that it is very difficult, especially as this hospital is a negative pressure ward hospital for the treatment of new crown patients, and there are negative pressure requirements, which is also a big challenge for us.

[Explanation] China State Construction, the project construction unit, said that in order to realize the point-to-point entry and exit of project personnel, materials and equipment into and out of the construction site and Shenzhen in the shortest time, the project only took 7 days to complete the construction of a temporary steel trestle on the Shenzhen River on March 5, connecting Shenzhen Hong Kong and Hong Kong provide prerequisites for large-scale construction.

[Explanation] The reporter learned that under normal circumstances, a hospital of this size requires a two-year construction period, not including various infrastructure work. Now two years are compressed into two months. The tight time brings about management and coordination. unprecedented challenge.

Since the start of the project, the construction unit has adhered to the concept of "production first, life later". All staff have overcome the difficult environment such as poor site conditions and lack of temporary construction facilities, living in tents, laying floor shops, and eating lunch boxes to give priority to ensuring the diet of the workers. The principle of accommodation is to overcome many difficulties in production and life.

This is the first time I have encountered such a particularly harsh environment, and it may be more difficult than Leishenshan in all aspects of construction.

Another is the tight schedule. We all work 24 hours a day and night, and work overtime to meet the deadline. We also hope to quickly deliver the hospital to our compatriots in Hong Kong, so that everyone can get a better treatment.

Because I am from Hubei, we have experienced the epidemic in Hubei in 2020.

Hong Kong is now raging with the epidemic, and we feel the same way, so no matter how hard we work, we will try to grab the progress, so that this project can be completed as soon as possible, so that Hong Kong compatriots can get good treatment.

[Explanation] Even if the construction environment is difficult, the project still maintains high-speed operation. During the peak period, the daily traffic volume reaches 2,883 vehicles, more than 400 sets of equipment, and more than 14,000 operators.

Finally, 43,000 square meters of field leveling was completed in 1 day after entering the site, more than 16,000 cubic meters of concrete were poured in 3 days (the total amount of concrete in the first phase was about 18,000 cubic meters), and more than 4,000 boxes were assembled in 5 days. .

[Explanation] It is reported that the Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital includes a 1,000-bed negative pressure ward, which will be completed in two phases, each with 500 beds per month, including 3 operating rooms and 100 ICU beds.

After the project is completed, it will effectively improve Hong Kong's ability to treat patients with new coronary pneumonia.
