A shock whose harmful effects are felt for years.

The end of the winter break which is scheduled for Friday risks being accompanied by numerous rental evictions.

To denounce their consequences, the Abbé́ Pierre Foundation and the Université́ Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne unveil an investigation* this Wednesday an investigation*.

According to this, one to three years later, 32% of households have still not found a real home.

and still live in a hotel or with a third party.

And other parts of their lives are affected: 29% of respondents have not been able to continue their professional activity

because of the eviction.

This probably explains why half of those questioned said they did not have enough resources to meet their needs.

The precariousness they suffer also leaves traces on their body and mind, because 71% of those questioned have health problems or psychological difficulties related to the shock they have suffered.

Effects on children's education too

Adults are not the only ones to suffer the toll of evictions, as 43% of them have noticed an effect of this poor housing situation on their children's schooling (dropping out of school, behavioral problems, concentration).

"These elements plead for a change in policy: deploy substantial resources, in particular to strengthen administrative and legal support, increase and simplify rental assistance from the Housing Solidarity Fund and the landlord compensation fund", concludes the Foundation. Abbe Pierre.
