Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the University of Tokyo has decided to temporarily accept students and researchers who have difficulty continuing their education and research.

We will provide travel expenses, a monthly living support fee of about 80,000 yen, and accommodation free of charge to support living.

According to the University of Tokyo, acceptance is for students and researchers who are unable to secure an environment for safe learning and research due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, regardless of nationality.

The program will be presented by each faculty or graduate school, and after examining in advance whether it meets your wishes, research guidance will be provided by faculty members. The period will be up to several tens of people until the end of March next year. However, it is said that it will respond flexibly according to the future situation.

Upon acceptance, in addition to support for obtaining a status of residence when traveling to Japan and payment of travel expenses, university accommodation will be provided free of charge, and about 80,000 yen per month will be paid for a maximum of one year to support living. It's a plan.

We also plan to provide support in terms of taking Japanese classes and counseling.

The University of Tokyo has a policy of publishing the application guidelines for each faculty, graduate school, and research institute on its website from the 30th, and has established an "emergency humanitarian aid fund" to support these students and researchers. I want to call you.
