Kuwait cancels a condition for expatriates to obtain the end of service

The President of the Civil Service Bureau, Maryam Al-Aqeel, issued a circular canceling the departure notice requirement to pay the end of service for expatriate employees in the government sector.

Al-Rai newspaper reported that this circular came after the Civil Service Council canceled its decision to submit a notice to leave the expatriate, so that the end of service is paid to non-Kuwaiti employees as soon as the service ends on the second contract, and the term of service under this contract is separated in the area of stipend payment from the following with the consequences On this, it is not permissible to recover it or to refrain from spending it in the event of the separation of service periods in the field of calculating and settling the remuneration.

Al-Aqeel called on government agencies to take settlement procedures and pay the end of service gratuity, taking into account the decision of the aforementioned service council.

Responsible sources in the Civil Service Bureau indicated that there are dozens of non-citizen employees of government agencies who were unable to pay their end-of-service benefits after the termination of their services based on the replacement policy pursued by Kuwait since 2017.

The sources said that the bureau will coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to strengthen the financial clause regarding the disbursement of the end-of-service gratuity so that it can cover the number of employees whose services have been terminated in the recent period.
