American artist sends his sculptures to the moon

American neo-pop artist Jeff Koons is no longer satisfied with displaying in major museums, but also wants to launch his entry into the world of "NFT" products, which are irreplaceable symbols, by sending sculptures to the moon, the Pace Gallery announced today, Tuesday, leaving the mystery prevailing in the project.

The journey of this “sculpture collection” is scheduled for “later this year and has been dubbed “Moon Phases”, but the project partners Pace Verso, 4Space, NFMoon and Intuitive Machines did not specify in their press release the number of works that will be included. .

In response to a question by Agence France-Presse, officials from the Pace Gallery did not give any explanations regarding the size of the sculptures, while the statement indicated that they will be placed in CubeSat small satellites that measure in principle 10 centimeters on the side.

Jeff Koons, 67, who is among the world's most expensive living artists, is famous for his sometimes controversial "balloon dog" or "puppy" pieces, similar to the "bouquet of tulips" installed in the Champs-Elysees gardens in Paris.

The world's most important museums display Koons' works.

The sculptures will be launched into space from the Kennedy Center in Florida, as part of a "completely independent" mission, in landing craft belonging to the American company Intuitive Machines, which is already cooperating with the US space agency (NASA), according to the Pace Gallery.

Each work will be attached to an NFT token, a unique digital copy encrypted with blockchain technology.

The FFT version will be sold on the ground.

According to PES, a portion of the proceeds from sales will go to MSF.
