On the afternoon of March 27, the "3.21" China Eastern Airlines Flight Accident National Emergency Response Headquarters held a press conference in Wuzhou, Guangxi.
According to Zheng Xi, the head of the Guangxi Fire Rescue Corps, Guangxi Fire Department dispatched 338 fire rescue personnel to the scene early this morning to conduct a search, of which 160 went deep into the core area to search.
At about 9:20 in the morning, one of the search teams carried out manual fine excavation at a position 5 degrees southeast of the impact point in the core area and 40 meters away from the impact point. When the fire rescue personnel dug to a depth of about 1.5 meters below the surface , after opening a tree root, they found a cylindrical metal tank wrapped in mud and only a little orange was exposed.
After purging and cleaning the dust on the surface of the metal tank, a clear English logo was revealed.
We quickly handed over the metal can to civil aviation experts for repeated identification and confirmed it to be the second black box of the crashed plane. It has now been handed over to the investigation team.
