The Egyptian Iftaa warns against distorting the verses of fasting

The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa warned against the distortion committed by some in understanding the verses of fasting.

Sheikh Ahmed Mamdouh, the trustee of the fatwa in the house, answered a question asking its owner about the ruling on fasting the month of Ramadan.

Mamdouh said that fasting the month of Ramadan is obligatory according to the Qur’an, Sunnah and consensus, stressing that it is one of the five pillars of Islam in which Islamic Sharia is mentioned, and its obligation is known from the religion by necessity.

He added: “Yes, some people may be surprised that we answer a question like this, it may be an obvious matter that does not need a question, let alone an answer, but in fact we turned to this question and wanted to answer it because there are some people now trying to infer Inferred incorrectly by some verses of the Noble Qur’an that fasting the month of Ramadan is not obligatory on the appointed, capable person, and this is a distortion of the verses of God.”

And he continued: “And they infer by the Almighty’s saying (and for those who can afford it a ransom, a needy food ransom), and this is a wrong inference, because the verse does not talk about the choice, but rather talks about the one who can fast, but his fasting performs it with great hardship and great fatigue.”

He explained that there is a difference between endurance and endurance, pointing out that endurance is the ability to perform without hardship.

He pointed out that the ability to perform with great hardship, the verse does not indicate that fasting the month of Ramadan is not obligatory.
