"Earth Hour"

March 28, 2022

On Saturday evening, at 8:30 pm, the country participated in the initiative to reduce global climate change "Earth Hour".

This participation comes within the framework of keenness to spread environmental awareness, and reflects the growing interest in awareness-raising and institutional support for sustainable development, and supporting environmental efforts, as well as consolidating the values of effective social participation, in a manner that embodies the usual leadership in carrying out our responsibilities.

The symbolism of participation and commitment to turning off the lights for an hour in the buildings, in addition to the external lights, while continuing the work, and reducing the levels of lighting in a number of police authorities, whose nature of work necessitates continuity, and not to turn off the warning and security systems, and the keenness to inform employees and dealers of this step, comes With the aim of engaging the world in the pursuit of combating climate change and reducing carbon emissions.

Organized and funded by the World Wide Fund for Nature, thousands of cities around the world and millions of people from communities, businesses and governments turn off their lights for an hour, spreading a global message urging people to take serious action to curb climate change.

I am proud to be the owner of the first police participation proposal in 2008, and then the spread of participation to the rest of the police leadership within the country, with the support of the head of the “Interpol” organization, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, who I trust in his capabilities and contributions that will contribute to the promotion and development of “Interpol” participation in Environmental security globally.

The impact of these individual and collective initiatives is reflected in their effective contribution to raising awareness of the dangers of climate change and global warming, and to raising effective consumption rates around the world. To urge site visitors to participate in the event, and provide them with more information about the event, through an advertisement tape of the official website:

.

are there more?

Will we see institutional initiatives that measure a decrease in the average consumption of institutions, companies and individuals, reinforced by financial or marketing incentives and certificates of appreciation?

Will we see the green economy grow, and financing solutions appear to move towards renewable energy in the industrial sector, commercial and even in the homes of individuals?

Will we see renewable energy giants such as Masdar, the national giant, supporting the adoption of renewable energy concepts in the agricultural sector?

Will we see a trend towards Low Liquid Discharge, or even Zero Liquid Discharge, water desalination and treatment research?

The impact of the return water from desalination plants is environmentally destructive, and there are global regulations and legislation regulating how to dispose of it.

Will we see innovative digital mechanisms and channels for reporting environmental violations, such as: logging and unjust and irresponsible pruning of some of them, which increases in the winter season?

Or we will see a positive “contagion” for the initiative of the Environment Agency in Sharjah, which thankfully launched the “Your Wood for Us” initiative, by taking advantage of the thoughtful and important pruning for agricultural operations, and to reduce the demand for firewood in the market, limiting the feasibility of sabotage acts, and the unjust cutting of local trees in a way that leads to undermining Continuous official efforts to afforestation for years in a few hours, in addition to reducing the financial cost to the citizen families, in addition to planting and planting local plants, and stimulating their growth in government nature reserves.

Will we see mechanisms for reporting roaming beekeepers, as everyone knows the disadvantages of their practices of buying bad bee species, and ridding them of apiaries by throwing them in beekeeping places, polluting the environment, and distorting the view, or displaying imported or adulterated honey as a distinct local production, harming the reputation of beekeepers Locals and licensees, who seek appropriate support and facilities in entering the local pastures and forests, but as a result of the behavior of the beekeepers, they face difficulty in this, and this may require the issuance of titles and numbering of the beehives, using a “barcode” or NFC.

Will we see a “free” license to use pastures and forests for licensed citizen beekeepers?

Perhaps the most prominent and successful success stories that deserve to be commended is the Dubai Municipality initiative in the “Oxygen” project in the “Hatta” region, where 100,000 local trees are planted, creating a growing forest of local trees, and allowing beekeepers to raise bees and establish quality projects, including the “Bee Garden”, which It achieves environmental sustainability for one of the most important natural pollinators, and enhances their social responsibility, while others are still closed forest walls, at a time when some may say that only authorized beekeepers are licensed from the emirate itself, forgetting the importance of bees in enhancing food and environmental security, the importance of integrating roles, and providing support Necessary for our profession is almost extinct!
