Taylor Hawkins, 50, joined in 1997 and held a very special place in this formation led by singer and guitarist Dave Grohl, also the ex-drummer of Nirvana.

The two men made a perfect pair.

This is explained by music journalist Jean-Pierre Sabouret, rock specialist, former editor of

Best

magazine , joined by Edmond Sadaka.

“

He was as essential to Foo Fighters as Dave Grohl, it's really this duo that, at one point, allowed this group to go into lots of experiments and lots of musical territories that were rather unexpected.

He's one of the great drummers of the last twenty years

 ,” he explains.

The California blonde drummer had notably played on some of their greatest hits, such as “Learn to Fly” and “Best of You”.

His playing could actually go from something ultra powerful - moreover for fun he also had a metal band, more or less funny and satanic - but he could also do progressive rock.

“

The good thing is that Foo Fighters still did a lot of filming, and you can see how much it sets the mood.

He's radiant and he's the drummer you want in any band.

No sincerely, I find it hard to imagine Foo Fighters without Taylor Hawkins

 , ”continues Jean-Pierre Sabouret.

Formed by Dave Grohl, just after the suicide of Kurt Cobain - who had signed the brutal end of Nirvana, where Mister Grohl officiated behind the drums... - Foo Fighters are one of the most influential and critically acclaimed alternative rock bands .

He was to play this Friday in Bogota, capital of Colombia, on the occasion of the Estéreo Picnic Festival.
