Meghan Markle has finally revealed the theme of her very first podcast.

In December 2020, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, announced their partnership between their production company Archewell and Spotify, to produce audio content for the platform.

Few news had filtered since, but the former actress of

Suits

has finally revealed the title of their first podcast:

Archetypes

.

We also know a little more about the theme, since it will focus on stereotypes concerning women.

“This is how we talk about women: the words that lift up our daughters, and the way the media reflect women back to us… But where do these stereotypes come from?

And how do they continue to manifest and define our lives?

Meet

Archetypes

– the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back.

I will have conversations with women who know all too well how these stereotypes shape our narratives.

And I will talk to historians to understand how we got here,” read a statement shared by the Duchess.

Late

No official release date for the first episode has yet been announced, although according to the

LA Times

, it should be available this summer.

After signing pharaonic contracts to produce content for Spotify (between 25 and 30 million dollars according to estimates) and Netflix (estimated at 120 million dollars), the royal couple had been widely criticized for having still not broadcast anything, more than a year after signing, if not a special episode of their podcast with interviews with their friends James Corden, Stacey Abrams, or Elton John.

A

Newsweek

article published last month explained how the Sussexes were under pressure to produce quality content, as they are now expected to turn around.

"Keeping their promises is vital for Harry and Meghan, not only because of the eye-popping contracts they've been able to negotiate, but also to signal to other potential businesses that they can be counted on to deliver on their promises, deliver a good value for money and a good return on investment,” said public relations specialist Anthony Burr in the article.

It remains to be seen whether a podcast devoted to stereotypes about women will fulfill this mission.
