The scope of application of the "Prefectural Discount", a measure to stimulate tourism demand that allows you to receive discounts on travel prices, will be expanded from next month.

The Japan Tourism Agency has announced a new operational policy, such as dividing the whole country into six regions and providing support for travel within those regions.

The prefectural discount, which gives you discounts on travel costs and coupons that can be used to purchase souvenirs, is currently supported by the national government when traveling within the prefecture where you live or in neighboring prefectures.

Regarding this system, the Japan Tourism Agency reviewed the operation policy and announced the requirements for new support from the 1st of next month on the 25th because the priority measures such as prevention of spread were lifted.

According to this, the whole country will be divided into 6 regions, and travel within the regions will be supported.

The specific divisions are:

▽ Hokkaido and Tohoku 6 prefectures

▽ Kanto 1 metropolitan area 6 prefectures and Yamanashi prefecture

▽ Chubu and Hokuriku Shinetsu 9 prefectures

▽ Kansai 2 prefectures 4 prefectures

▽ China and Shikoku 9 prefectures

▽ Kyushu 7 prefectures In Okinawa prefecture, the

target will be expanded more than before.

The implementation requires the consent of prefectures within the same area, and it is expected that the start date will be decided through individual discussions in the future.

In addition, in order to receive the discount, three doses of the new coronavirus vaccine or a negative proof by PCR test etc. is required.

However, at the governor's discretion, if you are in the prefecture where your travel destination lives, you can get a discount even with two vaccinations.

On the other hand, regarding Go To Travel, which has been suspended, the Japan Tourism Agency will carefully determine when to resume it after assessing the infection status.
