In a large-scale takeover case involving the Upper House election three years before the sentence of former Minister of Justice Katsuyuki Kawai was confirmed, the prosecutor's office in Tokyo was found to have received cash in a trial, but was not charged. It was announced that 35 out of 100 members, including members of the Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly and Hiroshima City Assembly, had voted "equivalent to prosecution."



As a result of a re-investigation by the prosecutor's office, 25 people were briefly charged and 9 were officially charged, except for one who was ill.



Of these, the former city council of Kaitoku was briefly charged with violating the Public Offices Election Act for receiving a total of 500,000 yen from former Minister Kawai, and the Kabe Kanisaiban Court in Hiroshima City was fined 250,000 yen and a surcharge on the 24th. This is the first time a brief order has been issued among former members of the House of Councilors who were briefly charged with the Upper House election three years ago.
