Former truck driver Hiroshi Umezawa was accused of dangerous driving fatal injury in a trial of an accident in which five children leaving school in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, were hit by a drunk driving truck and were killed or injured. He sentenced (61) to 14 years in prison.
The sentence was 15 years in prison, which is the upper limit of the statutory sentence.
