The elected officials expressed their desire to see their territory equipped with new nuclear energy production facilities, reports

In the mail, they called for the arrival of “one or more new generation reactors”.
For this, the authors of the letter indicated that they were "volunteers" at the reception of the machines.
Elected officials would actually like a development of the Chooz power station (Ardennes) thanks to the addition of reactors.
They would not consider building an additional factory.
In addition to Emmanuel Macron, the LR president of the Grand Est region Jean Rottner and the director general of EDF Jean-Bernard Lévy were recipients of the letter.
In November 2021, the Head of State had indicated his desire to launch the construction of new nuclear reactors.
