The Sikka Art and Design Festival, organized by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, attracts visitors of all walks of life and ages, to wander between its homes, which dazzled them with wonderful artistic experiences, roaming between the flanks of authenticity and modernity.
Under the slogan "We celebrate art, we celebrate prosperity", the houses of the 10th edition of the festival will host platforms for various types of contemporary art, in which works reflect the experiences and visions of emerging artists from the UAE and the Arab Gulf countries, who have employed various creative media in their works.
The House 9 takes visitors to the festival on a journey to the beautiful past, to discover a collection of unique jewelry from the most important jewelers of the Emirates in the exhibition "Back to the Roots".
The exhibition includes distinguished works by 10 Emirati artists, embodying tales of the past through visual installations and handicrafts, and a cultural café to share the experiences of creators.
The exhibits include a bronze peace sculpture, by the artist Amna Al Falasi, the “Al-Sukoon” necklace set by Dr. Abeer Awad, the 18-karat gold wind collection (India version), with diamonds and precious stones by the artist Fatima Al-Muhairi, and a necklace by the artist Hessa Al-Falahi, bearing engraved with white topaz His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
In addition to the "cabochon jewelry" collection, inspired by the Emirati culture, by the artist Houria Al Shaer, which is made of 18-carat gold, mother-of-pearl, onyx, emeralds, diamonds, lapis lazuli, the "Nada" collection by artist Noura Al-Sarkal, and the "Taif Yadouh" collection, by artist Shamaa. Al Falasi, as well as the “Transition” group, and a glass installation “Yellow is the title of brilliance”, by artist Sheikha Al Serkal.
