An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale (which has twelve) shook the Pyrenees on Tuesday evening.

The epicenter was located one kilometer from Vernet-les-Bains, a town in the Pyrénées-Orientales located at the foot of Canigou.

The seismic alert was transmitted by the detection and geophysics laboratory of the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission.

A previous earthquake ten days earlier in the Alps

The tremor caused no damage or casualties.

It was felt in Prades (a town located about forty kilometers from Perpignan), about fifteen kilometers away.

France is regularly subject to low magnitude earthquakes.

As was the case in Savoie, at Mercury, ten days earlier.

The intensity had been very slightly higher (of magnitude 4), but had not done more damage.
