"This is the third time I have come to Hong Kong to support." Wang Rui, a "post-95" nucleic acid testing technician, said in an online interview with a reporter from China News Agency in Hong Kong on the 23rd that she had just finished summarizing the daily testing data and was about to enter the center. In the laboratory, the analysis of nucleic acid sample reports was carried out overnight. "It is not as busy as it was a month ago. After all, so many support forces have come from the mainland, which makes me more confident."

In January this year, the fifth wave of the new crown pneumonia epidemic broke out in Hong Kong.

Wang Rui, who originally spent the New Year with his relatives in Anhui, went to Hong Kong for the third time to support nucleic acid testing after receiving the notification of aid to Hong Kong.

Previously, she had just finished a 462-day aid mission to Hong Kong, and it was not enough to leave Hong Kong for two months.

"Knowing that I was going to Hong Kong, my parents were silent, because this was the first time I went home since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020. I didn't expect that the reunion would be a few days before leaving again." Wang Rui said, "But my parents thought it was work. If you need it, you must protect yourself and protect yourself.”

After graduating from the medical laboratory, Wang Rui became a testing technician in Guangzhou Jinyu Medical Laboratory Group Co., Ltd.

In 2020, she began to participate in nucleic acid testing in different cities in the mainland.

In September of the same year, the third wave of the epidemic occurred in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong SAR government provided Hong Kong citizens with a free new crown virus testing service based on the principle of "willingness to check and do all the checks".

Wang Rui went to Hong Kong as a mainland inspector to assist in large-scale nucleic acid testing and screening. This is her first time in Hong Kong.

"At that time, after a month of support, the epidemic in Hong Kong eased, so I returned to Guangzhou to continue my work; I didn't expect that after more than a month, I would need to go to Hong Kong for the second time to support nucleic acid testing. This time, I supported it for more than a year."

According to reports, as the first third-party medical inspection institution from the mainland to enter Hong Kong, in 2011, Golden Mile Group successively built three medical laboratories in Hong Kong.

In July 2020, with the approval of the Hong Kong SAR government, Hong Kong Golden Mile officially undertakes the local nucleic acid testing task.

As of the beginning of March, Golden Mile Group has dispatched more than 160 inspection-related personnel to Hong Kong, of which 10 have worked in Hong Kong for more than 365 days.

After more than a year of support, Wang Rui gradually became familiar with the city.

The service staff of the hotel where she lives, the supermarket nearby, and the tea restaurant all know her, "I often help the nearby tea restaurant, and I go to a lot, and I don't even need to read the menu, I just call the A13 package, which includes chicken wings and rice noodles. and bread".

Wang Rui said that the waiter in the restaurant remembered the dietary preferences of her and her colleagues in the laboratory. "Some colleagues like to eat saliva chicken, and the restaurant owner will leave some for us. And I like spicy food, and the restaurant waiter will take the initiative to take it. Chili Sauce for me".

In daily conversations, we all know that she came to Hong Kong to support nucleic acid testing. "They all said thank you for supporting Hong Kong during the epidemic and helping us control the epidemic."

During the third aid to Hong Kong to fight the epidemic, work is usually divided into 24-hour shifts.

There was a shortage of manpower two days before arriving in Hong Kong. "When the amount of specimens is large, you can only eat one meal a day." Wang Rui said that if it is your turn to work the night shift, it is usually necessary to wait for the test results to be fully issued before analysis. After the class colleagues completed the handover, it was already 10:00 the next day.

In terms of nucleic acid testing process, Wang Rui said that Hong Kong and the mainland are the same. "We have participated in testing with local colleagues in Hong Kong. Hong Kong colleagues are very good and can answer questions in a timely manner. We understand and cooperate with each other."

Today, Wang Rui's job is not only to analyze nucleic acid results, but also to bring new colleagues to understand the workflow and act as a "little customer service".

"A lot of power has come from the mainland to help Hong Kong, and I hope the epidemic will pass soon and the prosperity of the past will be restored." Wang Rui said.
