Sporting goods manufacturer Puma's newest sneaker for women, the Mayze combines signature Puma design with a bold and edgy look.

Inspired by predecessors like the Puma Suede, the Mayze silhouette presents itself as a new classic.

Who is the shoe for?

Puma launched this shoe with a platform sole specifically for women.

Perfect for small women who appreciate a few extra centimetres, but of course taller women can wear them as well.

In size 38, the heel height is about four centimeters.

Actually, I'm not a big platform fan when it comes to sneakers.

But the Puma Mayze is the first who got a chance with me.

And I'm pleasantly surprised by the wearing comfort: the heel height has no influence on the comfort of the shoe.

This bold silhouette is bold and edgy, so it's not for women who like clean shoes and don't like to stand out.

There are different colors for this, such as black and white or with simple color accents in beige and pink.

This means that the sneaker can still be combined in many ways.

What do you need to know about material and optics?

The shoes convince with a soft and durable suede upper.

Padded ankle collar provides a comfortable, locked-in feel.

The thick rubber midsole offers bounce with every step thanks to a cushion.

Visually, the Mayze sneaker is a mix of archival inspiration and contemporary Puma classics

Platform sneakers – are they still cool?

Whether sneakers, boots or loafers: as a homage to the nineties, when platform heels were not exactly lacking, the huge heels can be found on many shoe models this year, so they are quite popular.

Platform sneakers can be combined particularly well with casual clothing.

For me, the classic combination with skinny jeans fits especially in everyday life.

On top it can also be an oversize hoodie or shirt, so that the outfit is loosened up.

Platform sneakers can also be worn with dresses and skirts for a beautiful evening wear.

By the way, it's the first platform sneaker in my collection - and probably not the last.
