Pluralisme has created a website that allows all Internet users, free of charge, to monitor the speaking time of candidates in real time.

Its president details the mode of operation of the site, and adds that he also classifies the speeches of the 12 candidates in 20 pre-identified themes.

An accessible tool to allow everyone to monitor speaking times in the context of the presidential election.

Elections-tracker.fr: this is the name of this free site which offers visibility and transparency on the speaking times of candidates in the media, but also on the themes of their speeches in real time.

The site was created by Pluralisme, a company that supplies the main television and radio channels with software that allows them to declare speaking times to Arcom (ex-CSA).

Fabrizio Papa Techera, president of Pluralisme, explains to the microphone of Europe 1 which technologies are used for this site capable of bringing this information live.

Access to candidate speeches

"We are going to analyze the flow of 15 television channels, and pass a series of algorithms. The first artificial intelligence algorithms are those for facial and voice recognition to find out who is speaking", he explains, "we are going to identify if it is one of the 12 official candidates."

Fabrizio Papa Techera adds that once the interlocutor has been identified, "we will move on to the

speech to text

algorithm which will allow the soundtrack to be translated into text. Once we have the candidate's speech, we will have an algorithm for classifying this speech according to the 20 themes that we have pre-identified. We not only give the speaking time, but also the context", he explained.

This tool "also allows citizens to access these speech extracts via a search engine to check who said what, what is unique", says the president of Pluralisme.
