The Dubai Metro Music Festival, in its second edition, organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, succeeded in providing an opportunity to support and discover Emirati talent, in addition to a unique group of creative musicians from different countries. Several around the world will present their shows at metro stations in Dubai, within “Dubai Destinations”, and during the “Dubai Art Season”.

On evaluating the success of the second edition of the festival, Al Suwaidi explained that this version of the festival is characterized by its synchronization with a major event hosted by Dubai for the first time in the region, which is “Expo 2022 Dubai”, which brings together 192 countries with their different cultures, and art and music constitute an important aspect of expressing those Cultures, as the festival comes within the Dubai Art Season, which extends until the end of this month with an exceptional, varied and rich agenda of artistic events. The metro, most of whom stop to enjoy music and photography with musicians, and a number of people came to the metro in particular to see musicians from their country, and people also interacted on social media, and we witnessed great interest from Arab and foreign media.

With regard to the criteria for selecting the artists participating in the second session of the event, Al-Suwaidi said: “In each session of the festival, we focus on selecting distinguished and different musicians of different nationalities who have not been seen by people of different nationalities and on various instruments, especially new and unknown instruments such as: the violin twin, and the three player. Guitars, and the first Emirati to play the electronic drum, and they were chosen from among the international talents and names who achieved a clear distinction in presenting multiple colors of music, as part of our direction to provide everything new and creative to Dubai residents and visitors, and to confirm Dubai’s global position as a global center for creativity and incubator for creators ».

The festival presented a mixture of traditional and modern musical arts, and the traditional instruments that appeared in its performances included: cello, saxophone, drums, violin and guitar.
