Zhang Zhinan, former vice governor of Fujian Province, was sentenced at first instance in the case of bribery and abuse of power

　　The Intermediate People's Court of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province today publicly sentenced Zhang Zhinan, former member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and former deputy governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, in the case of accepting bribes and abuse of power, and sentenced the defendant Zhang Zhinan to 12 years in prison and a fine 3 million yuan, sentenced to five years in prison for the crime of abuse of power, and decided to execute 14 years of fixed-term imprisonment and a fine of 3 million yuan; the property and the fruits of Zhang Zhinan's bribery will be recovered according to law and turned over to the state treasury.

　　After the trial, it was found that: from 1996 to 2019, the defendant Zhang Zhinan successively used his positions as director of the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, deputy governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and deputy governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government. The convenience and the convenient conditions for the formation of power and status provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as company operation, land use approval, obtaining subsidies and bank loans, and illegally accepting property from others amounting to more than 34.32 million yuan.

From 2007 to 2017, Zhang Zhinan practiced favoritism and abused his power in related projects for which he was responsible for approval, resulting in a total loss of more than 148 million yuan in financial funds.

　　The Nanchang Intermediate People's Court held that the defendant Zhang Zhinan's behavior constituted the crime of accepting bribes and abuse of power.

In view of the fact that he can truthfully confess his crimes after he arrives at the case, he will take the initiative to explain some of the facts of the crime of accepting bribes and the crime of abuse of power that the supervisory organ has not yet grasped; he will report and expose the criminal behavior of others, which has been verified to be true, and has performed meritorious service; All the stolen money and property have been recovered, and there are statutory and discretionary circumstances for lighter punishment, which can be given lighter punishment according to law.
