Yamaguchi Prefecture and Shimonoseki City announced on the 22nd that it was confirmed that 153 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 26,978 people have been confirmed to be infected in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Shimonoseki City also announced that a man in his 90s has died.
The number of people who died after being infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture was 161.
