Chinese-Tibetan bilingual version of "Hamlet" is here Pu Cunxin makes the capital a whirlwind of snow

After sending off the Tibet Repertory Theatre, Pu Cunxin will return to the National Centre for the Performing Arts to continue the rehearsal of Jane Eyre... From March 14th to 20th, Pu Cunxin gave the Tibet Repertory Theatre a whole week, from rehearsal, Combining to four performances in three days, the dormant Beijing stage blew a whirlwind of snow.

From the students of the Tibetan class of the Shanghai Opera Department to the young actors of the Tibetan Repertory Theatre, although their identities have changed, the Chinese-Tibetan bilingual "Hamlet" that has witnessed its transformation has only just begun to enter the market...

Taking over the graduation drama of the Tibetan language class of Shanghai Opera shows commercial temperament

In 2018, when Pu Cunxin met these Tibetan actors for the first time, they were still students of the Department of Performing Arts in Shanghai.

At that time, no one in the class knew the leader of today's Chinese drama. As the chairman of the Chinese Drama Association, no one could imagine that he could take over the teaching of this class as a visiting professor with a busy schedule.

Three years later, in May, the Chinese-Tibetan bilingual graduation drama "Hamlet" was born in Shanghai. Pu Cunxin made every effort and the unique quality of the actors to make this campus drama show commercial temperament.

From Shanghai to Wuzhen, from Harbin to Lhasa, this spring, Pu Cunxin invited the actors to his home theater, the Capital Theater.

It turned out that from March 17th to 19th this year, the play was performed in Beijing as a specially invited play of the "Grand Opera, 2021 National Drama Exhibition Season". After graduating from the opera, all the Tibetan actors who have entered the Tibet Repertory Troupe have gone from Lhasa arrived in Beijing.

For the first time as a director to lead actors to dance Tibetan dance warm-up

On March 14, the actors got off the plane and rushed to the Renyi Juyin Theater for rehearsal.

I used to get along day and night, but after graduation, my classmates returned to Lhasa. Pu Cunxin didn't show up because of the performance at the Wuzhen Theatre Festival. He hadn't seen each other for a few months. The topic of his handshake and hug with the actors was often the change of hairstyle. Cut in.

The day after arriving in Beijing, Pu Cunxin, who had a knee injury, often knelt on the ground to demonstrate.

In the early morning of the next day, the rehearsal started again with the warm-up of Guozhuang Dance, and the young actors from the human arts student class also came to observe. Although the performance style was relatively mature, they also rehearsed in Lhasa before coming to Beijing this time, but Pu Cunxin still encouraged everyone Don't just think about words, "You need to complete your self-creation calmly, except for the meaning of Shakespeare's words, you can have your own understanding, but there is a source, and the actor must have an intuitive expression that respects his own life." A morning of rehearsal, The classmates of the art student class have been attracted by the performances of Tibetan actors, and from time to time they use their mobile phones to record exciting scenes.

It is said that this play is Pu Cunxin's first time as a director, but he said that he used the version of "Hamlet" directed by Lin Zhaohua in 1990, so Lin Zhaohua's name was also written in front of him in the performance poster.

In the last performance on the evening of March 19, Lin Zhaohua's wife, He Bingzhu, who was the vice president of Chinese Opera, came to the backstage to convey Lin Zhaohua's greetings to everyone.

Unlike other directors, Pu Cunxin, who was born as an actor, only sat in the director's seat for a moment when the theater was composed, then got up and left the seat.

The interaction before the opening was a link he always wanted to add. The idea of several versions finally showed that there were ten minutes before the performance started. Pu Cunxin came to the stage to thank the audience for coming, and led the actors to warm up the stage with a Tibetan song and dance.

The popularity of Beijing's performances continues

During the three-day performance, it snowed on two of them, but the enthusiasm of the audience did not diminish, and all of Pu Cunxin's friends were present.

A Yunga, who is also an ethnic minority actor, rushed to the theater to observe the first performance. Earlier this year, he also played Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" and went to the backstage to communicate with the actors after the performance.

Xu Fan and Chen Xiaoyi, who acted together with Pu Cunxin in "Hamlet", also came to cheer Brother Pu in the last scene.

Bai Yansong, who had seen the performance in Shanghai last year, also made a special trip to host the post-performance talk for Pu Cunxin. He said with emotion: "These young Tibetan actors can perform at the Capital Theater as soon as they graduate, which is the starting point for you to become a society. The altitude is higher than Lhasa." On the closing day of the Beijing performance, Feng Yuanzheng, vice president of Beijing Humanities and Arts, also sent a 3D-printed cake made with the actors' group photos, hoping that they could retain this sweetness.

Another important part of this trip to Beijing is that 22 actors and Pu Cunxin watched the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square. They wore Tibetan costumes and sang the national anthem. The actors even said that they were shocked by the handsomeness of the honor guard. .

The "Hamlet" on the blackboard at the backstage of the theater was drawn by Pu Cunxin according to Han Meilin's font, and the words "Tashi Delek" were also written, which is not only a good wish for the performance in Beijing, but also a blessing for the upcoming tour.

On March 20, Pu Cunxin watched the actor's bus leave for the airport, and reunited a month later.

At the end of April, "Hamlet" will return to Shanghai, where it started, and from there embark on a national tour.
