- When we showed the series at the Berlin Film Festival, the festival director lay down on the red carpet and did this, says Anja Lundqvist and shows how the festival director knelt down in a praying gesture.

- She said "this series is needed - we need this", says Sofia Helin.

"Then it got scary"

Lust followers Anette, Nadia, Ellen and Martina - four women in their 40s who are forced to put up with their ideas about what sex in middle age can be.

The idea for the series has its origins in the actors' private conversations.

- We wondered about what topic we would dive into. And after a while we found that we did not talk to each other about sex.

Then it got scary, we got embarrassed and stressed.

Then we thought: there we should be, says Sofia Helin.

Aging and death "not so sexy"

The question of the groundbreaking in the sex depictions of the 60's that got the concept The Swedish sin to fly over the world can be repeated today.

It can no longer be seen as radical to portray sex in middle age - at least that is what the comedian Messiah Hallberg said when he recently visited the cultural program Cyklopernas land:

- For how many years should we praise this as something progressive?

How many movies and series do women need to see for them to feel that it is okay to have sex, Hallberg asked himself in the program.

- How many series should you need to see to understand that it is dangerous with pistols, you can say in that case.

We have not done the series to show that it is okay to have sex at our age - we know that too.

We did it because we think it's funny humor, says Anja Lundqvist.

Hard to concentrate on sex

- Sex is about a relationship.

How do you get there after x number of children and jobs and pressure and then someone wants to have sex with you when you stand with one hand in the saucepan, says Julia Dufvenius.

- And how do you keep the concentration on sex when you think that: now the sheets get dirty again and it is so difficult to get time in the laundry room, says Elin Klinga.

- Or like this: I look so fucking tired and old.

How igniting is it?

Aging and dying is not so sexy.

But let's have as much sex as possible until we die, says Sofia Helin.
