The virtual concert "L'homme lumière", held this Sunday, March 20, 2022, and produced by the French Institute in Haiti as part of the Quinzaine de la francophonie, is a taste of KEB's new album dedicated to Jacques Stephen Alexis.

Greatly influenced by the humanism of this Haitian indigenous writer, opponent of the Duvalier dictatorship, Kébert Bastien decided to set the works of Alexis to music.

The 12 tracks of the album

Mon Général Soleil, mon Kamoken

are all excerpts from the works of the Haitian novelist, among others L'espace d'un cillement, Compère Général Soleil and Les Arbres Musiciens.

This album, available for pre-order since March 1, 2022, pays tribute to Alexis, whose 100th anniversary on April 22, 2022 brings back.

This program is dedicated to the memory of the poet Jessica Nazaire (24 years old) who left us on Saturday March 12, 2022, succumbed to pneumonia.
