He hit a woman and tried to kidnap her... The excuse is shocking and worse than the crime!

American police arrested a Utah man for trying to kidnap a woman and put her in the trunk of his car

According to the American "Salt Lake City Tribune" website, the man confirmed in police investigations that he tried to kidnap the victim after he thought she was his wife.

The street surveillance cameras monitored the aforementioned man, who was sitting in his car next to the sidewalk, last Tuesday, when the victim was walking next to him. The man began to pull her bag from her.

The woman resisted the man by pulling her bag and preventing him from taking it, but he punched her in the face, before he fled and drove at high speed.

Brigham city police arrested the accused, and he told them that he and his wife quarreled at home before the accident, adding that he had been drinking alcohol, and he thought the woman who was walking on the sidewalk was his wife, and that he wanted to "grab her and put her in the car to go home."

The man added that "when he realized that the woman he was trying to kidnap was not his wife, he immediately left her and ran away," noting that he "does not remember beating her or stealing her purse."

The man was charged with possible kidnapping, robbery and assault.
