On the 20th, members of the choir gathered in Kyoto, a sister city of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, where the military invasion by Russia continues, and sang the national anthem of Ukraine to pray for peace.

This was planned mainly by vocalists who are active in Kansai, and on the afternoon of the 20th, about 40 people, including members of a local chorus and people from Ukraine, gathered in the plaza of JR Kyoto Station.

First, I learned how to pronounce the lyrics of the Ukrainian national anthem and practiced along with the accompaniment.

Then, in the actual performance, a powerful chorus was performed, the audience seats in the plaza were filled, and people passing by stopped and listened.

We also performed live distribution using smartphones, hoping that it would reach the site.

"I think it will be encouraging for the Ukrainians. I hope the war will end as soon as possible," said Olena Cigar from Ukraine, who participated in the chorus.

"I was very happy that the Japanese people gathered for Ukraine and sang the national anthem," said Mary Bodonal.

Masayo Yamamoto, a singer who planned the chorus, said, "Today, I wanted to pray together by singing. Even if the music doesn't become bread or water, I wonder if it will be a warmth that encourages my heart. I thought. "
