How did you end up in “The Voice”?

I still don't understand!

(laughs) Bruno Berberes, the casting director, was in the south in August and said that this season would be open to live bands, that it was a small revolution.

He wanted to find "grandpas" who play rock.

Someone who knew us told him about us and suggested he look at our Instagram account.

That's what he did, he liked it, and he contacted my guitarist, Alain, who initially refused.

Bruno Berberes insisted that we go through the various selections.

We got into the game.

My guitarist spoke to him several times on the phone and told him each time “Eric is going to have trouble with his schedule”, “it's going to be complicated with Eric…”.

Bruno Berberes told me afterwards that he ended up asking “But who is this Eric!

Alain replied: “Di Meco, a former football player.

Bruno told him: “I don't know who knows and who cares.

That's not what interests me.

“When we met, he apologized profusely, explaining to me that he knew nothing about football.

I told him that was good, that it would have been a shame if we were selected because of my presence in the group.

Those who know your sports career do not necessarily know that you are passionate about music.

You started playing bass in 1995, right?

Yes, I was in Monaco at the time.

I had already tried before when I was at the training center because I have always been a fan of music.

When I left the center, I lived with a friend who was a drummer, I bought my first bass at that time, but I was not too diligent.

So I gave up and then, in 1995, I befriended the owner of a music store.

He had a magnificent bass in the window, I entered the shop explaining to him that I would like to know how to play it.

He got me a book of Red Hot [Chili Peppers] tabs – I didn't start with the easiest.

He lent me a "beginner" bass, telling me to come back in a month if I liked it.

In 1996, I went to Clairefontaine for two months and to the Euro in England with my bass.

Aimé Jacquet [the coach of the France team at the time] was amazed to see me arrive with this thing.

I was so passionate that I spent my life on my bass.

How was your group born, Osiris?

Every year, Christian Jeanpierre organizes a charity concert in November at L'Olympia for the association Premiers de cordée.

In 2017, I went to play a Stones song with him.

Leaving the stage, I told my friend Alain, the guitarist, that I had enjoyed myself and that I wanted to start a band.

He brought together some friends but the Osiris project comes mainly from the meeting with the singer because we are not from the Oasis culture – we played Marylin Manson, AC/DC.

I had made a call on the radio to find a guy in Marseille who wanted to sing.

Little Axel, who is not of our generation because he is 34, contacted me.

We gave him an audition and we quickly understood that AC/DC and Marilyn Manson didn't work, but Oasis was his culture.

He's been in it since he was little.

I did not know this debate but, by ear, I am more Oasis than Blur…

You seem to have approached the blind audition of “The Voice” without pressure…

We were surprised to be there.

To go in front of the armchairs was already to win.

It's a special adventure for guys our age who aren't from the musical world.

We didn't have the same pressure as most of the other participants who absolutely want to pursue a career in music.

I found myself spending whole days at the selections or filming with other participants and I found myself projected forty years back, when I was young, I made football selections and I played my life on a game.

, some stake their lives on an audition.

There were endearing characters, with whom I always chat on Instagram.

Regardless of the outcome of the audition, chances are you will be in high demand after the broadcast.

Are you ready ?

In the group, everyone works side by side.

From the start, we decided to play in concert halls and not in pubs or bars.

Now, when I call to rent a room, I may be answered more easily.

We may also have more requests, but unfortunately we will not be able to meet them all.

Instead of playing in front of 200 people, we will play in front of 400. As I said, we don't play our life on

, it hasn't changed our daily life.

Above all, it's a great experience that puts a spotlight on what we do.
