A rare global event... The birth of a Yemeni child with one eye!

In a rare case that occurs globally, a Yemeni child was born with one eye in the city of Radaa, Al-Bayda Governorate, in the center of the country.


A medical source said that the infant was born in the "Al Hilal Medical Hospital" in Radaa city, and had one eye socket and one optic nerve, indicating that he died hours after being transferred to the incubator.

According to "Al Arabiya.net", Yemeni journalist Karim Zarei, who published the photo of the newborn, said that this case is very rare around the world.

He also added that "the world witnessed only 6 cases for nearly 5 centuries, and it was called" the birth of children with one eye."

He concluded by explaining that the first similar case was recorded in 1665, "and now we are witnessing a new case in Yemen."
