Yamaguchi Prefecture and Shimonoseki City announced on the 18th that it was confirmed that 215 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
On the other hand, Shimonoseki City withdrew on the 17th, saying that a duplicate was found for one person who was announced as an infected person.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in Yamaguchi Prefecture to 26,224.
The prefecture also announced that a man in his 80s had died.
The number of people who died after being infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture has increased to 158.
