China News Service Client, March 19 (Reporter Wang Shiyao) He is the "Godfather of Chinese Music" and a symbol of youth for a generation.

This time, he is "pure singer" Luo Dayou, hoping to use a piece of "Encore" to chew on classic songs and evoke the memory of those years.

To release a cover album, Luo Dayou's decision was beyond everyone's expectations.

What is even more unexpected is that the physical version of this album only has the option of "vinyl".

Luo Dayou said: "Vinyl is the most authentic and can best express the original intention of making music. Now I feel that vinyl can best represent myself. After we have experienced many music carriers, (will) find that music needs to return to the simplest way. ."

The entire album is the work of Luo Dayou and his father and aunt's love, "These songs are immortal, and they emit the light that music should have. It seems that people will continue to listen to the works of Mozart and Beethoven until now (the same), Keep going."

When the idea is stuck, Luo Dayou will think of classical music.

He said that the "code" of a lot of music is in classical music. At the beginning, musicians like Bach did not have electricity when making music, but they were in an "unprecedented romantic" state.

"Because the environment is silent, they have the right way to get along with the earth, and now we are going too fast."

Is there a conflict between "music" and "money"?

Luo Dayou told a reporter from Chinanews.com, "As a senior musician, we have a more mission. We can't just think about making money or not. At this time, we should think about the nature of music, how to prove that music is still worth listening to in this era. It is even more necessary to listen.”

The excerpt from the interview is as follows:

Chinanews.com: What are the differences between the album released this time and the past?

Luo Dayou:

This is the first time I have recorded an album as a "pure singer", but every song has been heard since I was a child, and I am very familiar with it.

In the past, I seldom sang other people's songs, but this performance focuses on "preserving" the taste of the people and environment of that era, because in my heart music is passed down from generation to generation.

I myself don't win by singing, but if there is an album of mine, all the songs are not written by me. When my task is to "express" it, I can show that these songs are in my mind and in my life. For life, my expectation for myself is to sing this life out. This is not a question of voice or technique, but whether I can convey the vitality in the song to other people.

That's what being a "pure singer" means to me.

Chinanews.com: In what aspects do you think the sense of ritual in music should be manifested?

Luo Dayou:

People's lives have been pushed to the world of the Internet. Nowadays, computers and mobile phones often suggest to us, "If you like that song, you will also like this song..." Many consumption behaviors today are not necessarily It was what you wanted in the first place, but you "saw" and liked it, so you bought it.

When I take a bath, I will turn off the light, leaving only a very weak light, or lighting a candle, because if the light is too bright when a person is bathing, it is not easy for you to feel the presence of your body.

The body is inseparable from the ritual, and the ritual is a connection between the human body and its own mental state.

The same is true of choosing to release a "vinyl" record this time, because just taking the vinyl out of the sleeve and plastic sleeve and putting the tonearm on the right song is a ritual, and it doesn't save time. , inconvenient but most respectful of people.

The sense of ritual is anti-convenience, listening to music and making music should not be so convenient, just like watching a movie, it is a bit troublesome, "I think if music is too easy to obtain, it will no longer be surprising, so it must return to the most In troubled times, I hope this sense of ritual makes everyone realize that music has some troubles, but there must be a kind of soothing."

Chinanews.com: When preparing the album, you said that the emotion brought by good music is not affected by time.

That "where does the power of this music come from?" have you found the answer?

Luo Dayou:

I haven't found the answer yet, but I think the answer will become more and more clear, because we will get a response from the new era.

Good music is a classic. It must pass through time and can only be recognized as a classic after decades or even hundreds of years. Therefore, there is no way to determine a classic at the time of writing.

But all classics have a characteristic, that is, they are in line with the "present and present", and they are also in line with the world in 30 to 50 years, two or three hundred years later, so the best creation is to "be loyal to this era" people”, expressing the true humanity of people in this era and making a voice that is in line with humanity.

Chinanews.com: Do you think that in the current music market, is there a conflict between "making good music" and "making money"?

Luo Dayou:

Of course there will be contradictions. To make an album that you like 100% will not necessarily make money. This is a problem that many musicians will encounter.

But as a senior musician, we have a more mission, not just thinking about making money but not making money.

At this time, we should think about the nature of music, how to prove that music is still worthy of being heard in this era, and even more necessary.

Chinanews.com: Cross-strait music exchanges continue. Have you noticed some recent music programs in mainland China, and are you interested in participating?

Luo Dayou:

There is a chance.

I still have a lot of things I want to accomplish, and the next musical must be done.

As soon as I get stuck creatively I go back to (thinking of) classical music.

At the moment of the epidemic, (I) have a sense of mission, and feel that people who make music can't stop.

Playing the guitar well, singing well, and continuing to communicate with the audience are things I will definitely continue to do as a musician.
