The police in Northwest Mecklenburg are looking for suspected tricksters who are said to have thrown their prey out of the car window during the pursuit.

As a police spokesman explained on Friday, the officials had to collect around 20,000 euros on Thursday evening.

A passer-by saw the men handing over money in a small town near Dassow and called the police.

When officers saw the suspect car and gave chase, the suspects threw the loot out the window and initially managed to escape at high speed.

The men are said to have taken the money from an 82-year-old man in the district shortly beforehand with a so-called shock call.

The senior was told on the phone that a family member had caused a fatal traffic accident.

With a five-digit bail, he could prevent the family member from being in custody.

The police warn again and again against such tricks.

Dassow is on the federal highway 105, not far from Lübeck and north of the highway 20 Lübeck-Stettin.
