Hino Motors, a truck maker, had submitted fraudulent data on engine emissions to the government, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has decided to certify fraud and revoke the certification required for production.

Vehicles manufactured by Toyota Motors and Isuzu Motors, which are equipped with Hino Motors engines, are also subject to certification revocation.

On the 4th of this month, Hino Motors submitted illegal data on emissions and fuel consumption to the country for the engine to be manufactured, and revealed that it had obtained the "type approval" necessary for production, and the country conducted an on-site investigation. We have been confirming the facts by doing such things as.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as a result of the investigation, it is fraudulent to replace parts in the middle of the exhaust gas test for medium-sized engines, and fuel is measured with inappropriate equipment settings for large engines, so that fuel efficiency is better than actual. It was confirmed that it was false.

We also determined that the small engine that Hino Motors was investigating was fraudulent, such as adopting the best fuel efficiency value based on the results of multiple measurements.

Based on the results, the government has decided to revoke the certification required for production of buses and trucks equipped with four types of engines manufactured by Hino Motors.

The targets to be canceled include buses produced by Toyota Motors and Isuzu Motors, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will hold a hearing with the three companies on the 25th of this month.
