As China's first modern publishing institution and a well-known cultural brand, the Commercial Press has an immeasurable and far-reaching influence in the history of modern Chinese culture and education.

  In the early days, Liu Yiling had exchanges with Zhang Renfeng, the grandson of Zhang Yuanji, one of the founders of the Commercial Press. Her work "Two Theories on the Cause of Zhang Yuanji's Stroke - Chen Jingren vs Zhang Renfeng" was published in the February 2022 issue of Taiwan Biography Literature Published, issued after the Lunar New Year.

  At the beginning of February, after Zhang Renfeng's recommendation, Liu Yiling contacted Yang Jian, director of Zhang Yuanji's library and president of the Haiyan County Federation of Returned Students, and expressed that she would donate the manuscript.

  At the suggestion of Yang Jian, Liu Yiling finally decided to donate books to express her feelings, "I will send the books and my own works purchased for the author's remuneration to Zhang Yuanji Library, thank you; Mr. Zhang Yuanji said, 'the first good thing is to read' , thank you Yucheng, thank you very much."

  A month later, Liu Yiling contacted Yang Jian again, saying that the remuneration had been repurchased for two precious books from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, which were the 1906 edition of the "Latest Elementary School Chinese Textbook" (Volume 4) edited by Mr. Zhang Yuanji and others, and Mr. Zhang Yuanji. The book title of the thirty-fifth edition of the Republic of China "Gu Wen Guan Zhi" (a set of four volumes).

  "Especially, the color picture attached to the Chinese textbook from a hundred years ago has not faded, which shows the high level of printing technology in the early years of the Commercial Press, which is very valuable for document preservation." Liu Yiling said.

  After receiving the book donation, Yang Jian said, "Liu Yiling used the manuscript fee for writing Mr. Zhang Yuanji's articles to carefully select precious documents related to Mr. Zhang Yuanji in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China in Taiwan, and sent them to the library in Mr. Zhang Yuanji's hometown. , I deeply felt her respect for Mr. Zhang Yuanji and her love for her hometown."

  He said that he would return the Zhang Yuanji Library's collection certificate to Liu Yiling as soon as possible to express his gratitude.

  It is reported that in 1902, Zhang Yuanji entered the Commercial Press as director of the Compilation Institute.

For more than a century, the Commercial Press has taken "prosperous education and enlightenment of people's wisdom" as its mission, striving to inherit Chinese culture, and actively disseminate new knowledge overseas.

  Zhang Yuanji Library is an ideological education base for non-party intellectuals in Zhejiang Province. It has assisted the Haiyan County Government in holding five national seminars on Zhang Yuanji's academic thoughts in conjunction with the Commercial Press and the Shanghai Institute of Literature and History.
