At 8:00 on March 17, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province. The epicenter was located in Qifeng Township, Sunan County.
After the earthquake, fire rescue personnel from Gansu rushed to the epicenter to check the disaster situation. After investigation, some houses and roads in Qifeng Township had cracks, no houses collapsed, electricity, traffic and communications were normal, and no secondary geological disasters occurred.
Up to now, the Gansu Provincial Fire Rescue Corps has not received any reports on the Zhangye Sunan earthquake-related alarms or casualties.
