Polish model crowned Miss World

Polish Karolina Bilawska was crowned Miss World, and Beluska won the title in the capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan, 3 months after the competition was postponed due to the emerging Corona virus.

The 23-year-old works as a model and is studying for an MBA.

Miss USA, Shri Saini, took second place, while Olivia Yasi from Ivory Coast took third place.

The grand ceremony witnessed messages of support for the Ukrainians, and a condemnation of the Russian military operation. Toni-Ann Singh, the Jamaican winner of the Miss World title in 2019, presented Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli's song "The Prayer", and the phrase "Pray for Peace" appeared on a giant screen.

Organizers also said that more than 7,000 candles were prepared to be presented during the competition, which was broadcast in more than 100 countries.

In a statement to the competition's CEO, Julia Morley, said: "We must do something, although lighting one candle is not enough, but if we all light our candles, we can change the world."
