In the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, military operations are increasing against the armed group ADF.

In May 2022, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi decreed a special security regime that gives more power to his army: two provinces, North Kivu and Ituri were placed under a state of siege.

Then, on November 30, 2021, Shujaa began, a joint operation between the Congolese defense and security forces and the Ugandan army.

The objective is to neutralize the ADF, which appeared in Uganda and has been installed in the DRC for more than 25 years.

Despite this heightened military pressure, the violence of their action did not weaken.
