China News Service, Beijing, March 17 (Reporter Liu Liang and Du Yan) Young people stay up late, and the elderly cannot sleep. This is one of the characteristics of sleep in different groups in China today.

On the 17th, the China Sleep Research Association and the Mousse Group jointly released the "2022 Chinese National Healthy Sleep White Paper" (hereinafter referred to as the White Paper).

The white paper analyzes the sleep conditions of nearly 10,000 people across the country through sample surveys and big data.

According to the white paper, 44% of young people aged 19-25 stay up late until after midnight in terms of the age group of the respondents, and are well-deserved "stay-up champions".

42% of the elderly took more than half an hour to fall asleep, and the insomnia rate was as high as 21%.

The proportion of the elderly who perceive themselves as having very poor sleep quality is 9.7%, and that of young people is 4.2%.

The sleep time of young people is significantly lower than that of old people, and the frequent insomnia rate of old people is significantly higher than that of young people.

From the perspective of all age groups, respondents generally do not sleep well due to stress, which is most obvious in the 26-45 age group.

For every two young adults who do not sleep well, there is one "stressful".

The older you are, the easier it is to affect your sleep due to physical health. Among the elderly aged 61 and over, 46% will not sleep well due to health problems.

Guo Xiheng, director of the China Sleep Research Association, analyzed that the main reason for the excessive stress among young and middle-aged groups is closely related to study and work, while the elderly sleep lightly and wake up easily. If they suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, Sleep quality will also be affected accordingly.

The white paper also surveyed the sleep situation of different cities and income groups.

The survey shows that in the comparison of different types of cities, the third-tier and below cities sleep fast and sleep longer, and the average sleep time of residents exceeds 7.1 hours.

Residents in first-tier cities go to bed the latest, with an average time of about 11:30 pm.

The proportion of people with poor sleep quality in second-tier cities is significantly higher than other cities.

In terms of income, the white paper states that as income increases, sleep duration gradually decreases.

Moreover, among people with income, the higher the income, the higher the sleep score. The survey shows that the sleep score is the highest with an annual income of 300,000-500,000 yuan (RMB, the same below).

The white paper pointed out that work stress is the number one reason for poor sleep among different income groups.

Among them, people with no income are more concerned about sleep environment and emotional problems; among those with an annual income of 80,000-150,000 yuan, the impact of physical health on sleep is more obvious; those with an annual income of 500,000-1 million yuan are subject to more economic pressure. influence.
