  According to the report, "Hong Kong Watch" posted on social media that the National Security Service of the Hong Kong Police Force sent letters and emails to "Hong Kong Watch" executive director Rogers, accusing "Hong Kong Watch" of "engaging in serious interference in the affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region." and activities that endanger the national security of the People’s Republic of China, including lobbying foreign countries to impose sanctions or blockades against China or the Hong Kong SAR and engaging in other hostile activities, and serious interference in the formulation and implementation of laws or policies by the Hong Kong SAR government or the Central People’s Government.”

  The police accused "Hong Kong Watch" of violating Article 29 of the Hong Kong National Security Law of "colluding with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security", and warned that the executive director of "Hong Kong Watch" could face three years in prison or a fine of HK$100,000.
