The height of the Eiffel Tower rises to 330 meters. What is the reason?

The height of the Eiffel Tower in Paris has become 330 meters after installing a six-meter-long radio broadcasting antenna on its top, after being transported by helicopter.

A few spectators and tourists braved the rainy weather, which delayed the operation for about three hours, to see the famous Parisian landmark, one of the most visited attractions in the world, topped by a new antenna that will allow coverage of the entire Ile-de-France region (Paris and its suburbs), with digital terrestrial radio broadcasts. (DAB+).

The process, which required the approval of the Paris Municipal Council, the Ministry of Culture and the French police, took about fifteen minutes, by which time the helicopter installed the antenna at the top where a technician was waiting to install it.

This is the first time that new equipment has been installed by helicopter on the Eiffel Tower, according to the tower's operator, Sete.

And work on this step required "more than a year", at a cost of nearly one million euros.

The antenna, designed by the engineers of the French Radio and Television Broadcasting Corporation (TDF), weighs 350 kilograms, according to the authority's Secretary-General Arnaud Lucosi.
