On the morning of the 15th, there was a fire in Matsuyama City that burned down a house, and two people were found dead from the burnt remains.
Police are in the process of confirming their identities because they are unable to contact the elderly couple who live in this house.
Before 6 am on the 15th, a neighbor reported to the police that a fire had broke out in the house of Mr. Kiyohiro Fujiwara (79) in Sainohara, Matsuyama City.
Eight fire trucks were dispatched and the fire was almost extinguished about an hour later, but the fire burned down a two-story wooden house and found two bodies from the first floor.
According to the police, Mr. Fujiwara lives with his wife in his 70s in this house, and after the fire, he cannot contact the couple.
Police suspect that the couple may have died and are checking their identities and investigating the cause of the fire.
The site is a mountainous area about 5 km east of JR Iyo Hojo Station.
